debdepan is Chelsea Tolhurst (vocals & guitar) and Grace Bontoft (bass & backing vocals), a 2-piece band from the UK who make dark, melodic music influenced by Warpaint, Marika Hackman, The Cure, PJ Harvey and The Big Moon.
Using the time during lockdown to write songs, they formed the band in March 2022 and played their first shows. They were discovered by Pie Factory Music’s Emerging Artists programme which offered to release a single on its Wantsum Music? label.
‘Darkest Hour’ was released on 16th September 2022, picked up radio play in the U.S. and several EU countries, and entered the Deutsche Alternative Charts.
They signed a publishing and label deal with Archangelo Music shortly afterwards. They have since worked hard to push themselves technically and creatively to produce OMEN, a 3 track EP exploring multiple genres.
The EP is released on the 25th of July 2023 on Bamala Newtown, supported by a run of live dates in London and Kent.
